Pizza, tech and fun at the office

Returning to the office is a relief for many Simployees after two years of pandemic work. Tech invited to pizza lunch and games, and other departments very curious to what we were up to. Combining food and games is a great combination, and when you bring VR glasses and a rebuilt Arcade machine, well we are all in for a treat.

Meet me by the Arcade

We love playing with technology in Simployer. At the 2021 Simployer Hackathon one of the projects were to fix the Arcade machine to put more joy into the work day. The Simployer Arcade Machine is way more than an arcade machine – it is a time travel machine which will give you a spark of childlike joy and playfulness. Packed with 6000 to 10 000 games, from a wide variety of retro consoles such as NES, SNES, Sega Mega Drive, Amiga and Neo Geo, you can spend hours playing with your colleagues.

Equipped with a state of the art FPGA plus System on Chip, the machine emulates retro consoles both on the hardware level and the software level to guarantee you a genuine gaming experience. Having a lash at this old hit machine during lunch, we guarantee that you will be more efficient once you get back to work after releasing some pressure on the Simployer Arcade Machine.

VR technology

Oculus Quest 2 VR and the game Eleven engaged the crowd in virtual table tennis. Although the main target for playing with technology is just to play, thoughts on how to use gamifications for our operations was also a topic that was buzzing amongst the participants. Trying not to get hit as you walk by an "engaged racket less" table tennis player - it was clearly a hit!

The local newspaper even came to join our lunch. You can read the full story here (requires subscription).
